What is Backendless?

Backendless is a visual app development platform that combines a backend-as-a-service with a UI builder. It provides a real-time database, serverless cloud code, user management, push notifications, and file storage in a single platform.

Cloud code in Backendless can be written in Java, JavaScript, or built visually using their Codeless drag-and-drop logic builder. The default execution timeout is 5 seconds, extendable to 20 seconds with an add-on. Servers are available in the US and EU.

Backendless is available as a cloud service, a dedicated Pro instance on your own servers, or as a fully managed deployment. The free tier includes enough resources for prototyping, and paid plans scale based on API calls, data objects, and additional features.
