What is FaaStRuby?
FaaStRuby was a serverless platform specifically built for Ruby and Crystal developers. It aimed to bring functions-as-a-service to the Ruby ecosystem at a time when most serverless platforms focused on Node.js, Python, and Go.
The platform offered a CLI-driven workflow for deploying Ruby and Crystal functions with HTTP triggers. It gained some traction in the Ruby community but ultimately shut down around 2020.
FaaStRuby is no longer operational. Ruby developers looking for serverless options today typically use AWS Lambda (which added Ruby support in 2018) or container-based platforms like Knative and OpenFaaS.
