What is Fluxbase?

Fluxbase is a developer-focused, self-hosted backend-as-a-service designed as an alternative to Supabase. It aims to provide a feature-rich backend that is easy to deploy, manage, and extend on your own infrastructure. Fluxbase focuses on combining database access, authentication, server-side logic, and APIs into a single, manageable platform, while keeping full control in the hands of the developer.

The platform is currently in beta and targets teams and individuals who want Supabase-like functionality without relying on a fully managed cloud service.

Use Cases

Self-Hosted Backends

  • BYOC / Self-Hosting: Deploy Fluxbase on your own servers using Docker or Kubernetes
  • PostgreSQL-Centric: Uses Postgres as the primary datastore with auto-generated REST APIs
  • Infrastructure Control: Full ownership over data, deployment, and runtime environment

Application Backends

  • Authentication Services: Built-in user authentication with email/password, OAuth, SAML, and magic links
  • Storage APIs: Object storage compatible with S3 semantics
  • Database Triggers: React to database events to run server-side logic

Developer-Focused Workflows

  • Server-Side Functions: TypeScript-based functions for business logic and background jobs
  • SQL Execution: Long-running SQL jobs and scheduled execution
  • API-First Design: Programmatic access to all core services

Key Features

  • Postgres with REST APIs: Automatic REST endpoints generated from database schemas
  • Authentication & Authorization: User management with modern auth flows
  • TypeScript Functions: Server-side functions for custom logic and workflows
  • Object Storage: S3-compatible file storage layer
  • Self-Hosted by Design: Designed to run on Docker and Kubernetes
  • LLM Integration Ready: Built-in chatbot API with schema-aware database access

Service Level Agreement (SLA)

  • Fluxbase is currently in beta
  • No formal SLA is provided
  • Support and development are community-driven via GitHub and Discord
