What is Huawei Cloud FunctionGraph?

Huawei Cloud has emerged as a major competitor to Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. With over 180,000 employees in more than 170 countries, Huawei is a global player in IT, telecom networks, and cloud services. With their impressive portfolio of products and services, they have created their own ecosystem, boasting the concept ‘Everything as a Service’.

FunctionGraph offers an all-around event-driven model for creating complex workflows.. Functions can be triggered by file uploads, data streams, and other events or services. To manage complex setups and multi-step applications, it provides visual workflow orchestration. Additionally, monitoring and logging offer real-time metrics for tracking performance, identifying errors and helping debug your setup.

The plaform supports multiple languages, and ZIP file uploads. It automatically manages resources that scale with demand to maintain availability during traffic spikes and includes automatic error recovery to enhance reliability. FunctionGraph also integrates with Huawei Cloud’s AI services for the development of intelligent applications without a separate AI infrastructure. In case, you want to deploy containers and use other runtimes, you can use Huawei’s SWR (SoftWare Repository for Container) for any OCI standard containers.

FunctionGraph operates on a pay-as-you-go model, with a free tier providing 1 million requests and 400,000 GB-seconds of execution time per month. There is an option to scale down the memory to 128 MB with an execution duration of up to 3,200,000 seconds per month.

These features, along with its user-friendly orchestration and monitoring, make FunctionGraph a solid serverless option. However, keep in mind that Huawei faces restrictions in some regions.
